Strandkulla cottages


We offer high standard cottages by the sea in a beautiful, peaceful and child friendly environment. All cottages have their own beach.

Strandkulla is situated close to the town of Kristinestad (8 km) and is open all year round. Two other small cities are nearby: Kaskö/Kaskinen (15 km) and Närpes (14 km). See more information about these three cities, KristinestadNärpesKaskö.

We have 9 cottages that are 30-90 m2 and can house 2-8 persons. The cottages are fully equipped for year around living and have bed rooms, kitchen, lounge, toilet, shower and sauna. Equipment: TV, radio, fridge-freezer, microwave oven, stove, oven, dishwasher, dishes and kitchenware, water and electricity, rowing boat.

Fishing area with direct access to the Kvarken Archipelago.
Catch: pike, perch, trout, baltic herring, salomon, trout and whitefish.
Best fishing seasons: Mid April – beginning of June and September – October.
Excellent place also for winter fishing.

Rates include:

  • rent of a cottage for a week (Monday to Monday). Check-in is from 16:00 on the Monday you start to rent the cottage and check-out is no later than 12:00 the following Monday.
  • rowing boat.
  • Linens are not included in the rent and you should bring your own but linens can be rented for 60 € pp/week.
  • Cleaning is not included in the rent. If you want cleaning this will cost 100 euros per week and should be payed at the same time as the rent.

COTTAGE 1

This is our smallest cottage on 30 square meters and houses 2 persons. The rent is 400 euro per week.

COTTAGE 2

This cottage has one bedroom and a sleeping loft and is 50 square meters and houses a maximum of 4 persons.The rent for this cottage is 800 euros per week.

COTTAGEs 3 – 5

These cottages are identical and they have two bedrooms and is 50 square meters and houses a maximum of 4 persons. The rent is 800 euros per week.

COTTAGE 6

This cottage has two bedrooms and is 45 square meters and houses a maximum of 4 persons. The rent is 800 euros per week.

COTTAGEs 7 – 8

These cottages are identical and have one bedroom and a larger sleeping loft and is 70 square meters and houses a maximum of 6 persons. The rent is 850 euros per week.

COTTAGE 9

This cottage has three bedrooms and a loft and is 90 square meters and houses a maximum of 8 persons. The rent is 950 euros per week.

Booking and payment

The booking should be done by contacting us via e-mail at strandkulla@gmail.com and if the cottage you want to have is free during the period you want to let it you will get a confirmation via e-mail from us. An invoice for the rent will then be e-mailed to you. 

Any objections to the invoice must be made within 7 days of the invoice date. The invoice must be settled as a SEPA payment (with IBAN account number and BIC bank code) and using the reference number mentioned in the invoice. The rent must be paid in full two (2) weeks prior to the start of the holiday.

If the booking is made less than 2 weeks before the start of the rental period, the full sum must be paid immediately at the time of booking. 

If the client fails to pay or misses the payment deadline, we will cancel the booking without further notification.

Any cancellations must be made by e-mail to strandkulla@gmail.com. The date on which we receive the notification will be regarded as the date of cancellation. A cancellation made outside of office hours (weekdays 8:30am – 5pm) will be considered as having been made on the next office day.

If the cancellation is made less than 2 weeks before the start of the stay, payments made by the client will not be refunded. There is, however, the possibility to change your booking in this case but if you cancel the changed booking there will be no refund.

Customers are not entitled to a rent refund if they do not occupy the destination or arrive late for their stay. If a customer interrupts their booking and departs the holiday destination before the end of the lease period, no compensation will be paid for the unused time and the customer is not entitled to a rent refund.

Common questions and answers

How will I find the cottages?

In your booking confirmation you have received a number for the cottage you will be staying in. Use google maps or another map program and enter the following address for cabin 1-9: Skrattnäsvägen 700, 64250 Pjelax. When you have arrived you just have to look for your cottage. The cottages are all numbered with a sign on the wall.

When can I check-in?

Check-in is no earlier than 16 o’clock.

How does check-in work? 

In the booking confirmation the cabin number and check-in time is specified. The key to the cottage is in the door lock upon arrival. You are welcome to make yourself at home and no further check-in is required. We will also usually come and welcome you personally during the first day of stay if possible.

Should the cottage be cleaned before departure?
Yes. Cleaning service can however be ordered in connection with the booking at a cost of 100 euros per week. If you leave the cottage without cleaning, a cleaning fee of 100 euros per week will be charged.

If you carry out the final cleaning by yourself, please remember at least the following rules: rugs or carpets should be vacuum-cleaned, the cottage should be vacuum-cleaned, floors should be wiped over with a damp mop, tables and surfaces should be wiped with a moist cloth, bed linen should be aired outdoors, crockery and cooking utensils should be washed, the sauna and WC should be cleaned and all waste should be taken to the collection point. The yard area and barbecue location must be left in a tidy condition. The departure cleaning should be performed in its entirety on the day of departure and before check-out time.

What should we take with us?

The cottages have mattresses, pillows and blankets. You must bring sheets, pillowcases and towels. Bed linen can be rented (10 euros per person and week); this will include sheets, pillowcase and hand and bath towels. Please, notice that you always should use sheets and pillow cases in the beds.

What happens if we lock ourselves out? 

Notify us by email (strandkulla@gmail.com) or by phone 0505463775 . If you need help getting into the cottage outside regular working hours, you will be charged a fee of 20 euros.

Where is the nearest convinience store?

The nearest store is in Kristinestad.

Can you rent a cottage for a weekend?

Yes, but the shortest rental time is three days and it is only possible during off-season.

Can you book a cottage in the company’s name?

Yes.

How do I pay?

Payment must be made no later than 2 weeks before the arrival at Strandkulla. If the payment has not been made by this time, the stay will be canceled without further notice.

Can I check-in at for example a thursday and stay to the next thursday?

No, not during high-season without paying rent for two weeks as it is mondays we have as check-in day.

Should I notify you about the time I will arrive?

Yes. This is important for us to know so you can enter your cabin as smoothly as possible. This is especially important if you intend arriving the next day or late at night.

What if I need to cancel my stay at Strandkulla?

Cancellations are made by e-mail to strandkulla@gmail.com. The date we receive your message is counted as the date of cancellation or date of rebooking. If we receive your message outside our working hours (Monday – Friday 8:30 – 17:00), the date of cancellation / re-booking will be the following working day. If the cancellation is made less than two (2) weeks before your stay should start, the rent will not be refunded. There is, however, the possibility that you in this case can rebook your stay but if you cancel also this stay there will be no refund of the rent. If you do not make use of your booking or arrive late / go home early, all or part of the rent will not be refunded.

Can more people come to the cabin than what is stated in the cottage description?

No this is not allowed. The only exception is children under 2 years.

Can I bring a caravan or pitch a tent?

No, this is not allowed.

Can I bring my pet? 

This is usually ok but we must be notified and approve this before booking is completed.

If you are planning to bring more than one pet, please contact us before making the reservation. It should always be agreed before booking.

Please, remember to remove all pet hair from the cottage/furniture and faeces from the yard before leaving. Please, make sure that the pet does not cause any damage to the cottage or yard. The customer is responsible about all damages caused by his pet directly to the owner.

Is there a barbecue? 

Yes.

Is the water approved for drinking?

Yes.

Is it a wood-burning sauna in the cottage?

This depends on which cottage you want to rent. Inform us when you book your stay that you want a cottage with a wood-burning sauna.
